AFF Fly Tying Clinics are a great way to learn new or hone your tying skills with step-by-step guidance from accomplished tiers in a fun, family friendly environment. The clinics run about three hours (usually 2:30-5:30 pm) with a short break in the middle. It is extremely helpful to AFF for participants to sign up early so we can ensure we have plenty tying materials and space (Corky’s has two rooms and we can arrange for the larger room with notice).

The sessions are held at Corky’s Ribs and BBQ, 12005 Westhaven Dr, Little Rock, AR 72211. Corky’s provides dedicated waitstaff for the group.

The clinics are thematic in that they focus on a type of fly (i.e. streamer, nymph, soft hackle, etc.), species (trout, bass, etc.), or other topic. Often, the theme will include a fly for one of AFF’s upcoming Fly of the Month competitions.

Don't have your own tying equipment but curious about tying? AFF has a limited number of high quality Regal vises and tying tools available. Reserve early to ensure access. Otherwise, participants are expected to bring a vise, basic tying tools, and appropriate thread (some like bringing a small light). AFF provides the other needed materials. Participants are able to see a live, magnified video of the instructor's fly throughout.
